Truth or Trump?

You know, it has been a crazy year. 2020 will go down as one of those years in human history as being unforgettable. There has been loss, pain, suffering and so much more. Sadly, the year hailed as the year of "clear vision" has revealed that the Body of Christ is being illuminated like never before. Let me explain as we go to the Word of God...

And the Lord said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab king of Israel to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him, ‘In what way?’ So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said, ‘You shall persuade him and also prevail; go out and do so.’ Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.

For a while now I have wrestled within my spirit concerning all of the prophetic words and revelations that have been given concerning 2020 as the year of "clear vision" and as I looked through scripture the account of the little known prophet Micaiah came to mind.

When we read II Chronicles 18 we see Ahab and Jehoshaphat looking for a word from God concerning attacking Ramoth Gilead and whether or not they would be victorious. The majority of the prophets said that victory would be assured because that was what Ahab wanted to hear and it was because a lying spirit was allowed by God to speak through PROPHETS incorrect things while Micaiah refused to join them and only said what God wanted to be said.

We are surrounded by so many "prophets" these days prophe-lying things about this year and current events and as People of God, we have to be careful as to what we hear and allow to be embedded in our spirits. Matthew 7 warns us about false prophets and that we will know them by their fruits. The KKK walks under the banner of the cross and calls themselves Christian, but we know otherwise. Right? 

We have to understand that just because it's supernatural doesn't mean that it's God-breathed. Our discernment must be sharp to not be swayed by delicious words and Godly precepts that mask evil undercurrents designed to deceive the very Elect of God. If a prophetic voice declares Jesus, but doesn't condemn injustice, cruelty and hatred it cannot be from God. If a prophecy glorifies and pleases people it cannot be from God. We have to be careful. 

As People of God, we must look at the evidence of every prophetic word and the fruit of every prophetic voice. Are they correct? Are the prophecies for the edification of Christ or a play for power over people? Yes, the word of more than one person is considered the truth, but what if God is allowing a lying spirit to allow them to say things under conviction that just aren't true? What do we do then? The answer? The Word of God has never lied and we must refer to it for the answers we need. If any prophet or any prophecy doesn't jive with scripture? Toss it out. Even if the cover sheet is good, but deep down goes against the Word? Throw it away.

2020 is truly the year of clear vision. Because God is showing us clearly who speaks for Him and who doesn't. He's illuminating hypocrisy and those who profit off of spreading incorrect things in the church. God is uncovering unknown works of darkness in people that were held high in the esteem of people. Now that's perfect vision...
